Nutrition & digestive health · Providence, RI
Good food, and a plan that finally fits your life.
Nourish is a one-practitioner nutrition practice for people whose digestion has stopped cooperating. No elimination diet you cannot sustain, no supplement wall. We start at your kitchen table, with what you already eat.
Free, 20 minutes, no intake form. Just a conversation.
Most people arrive here having already tried very hard.
They have cut out gluten, then dairy, then nightshades. They have a shelf of half finished bottles and a phone full of screenshots. What they do not have is a clear read on what their own body is actually doing, or a way of eating they can keep up past a Tuesday.
That is the work here. Test where testing helps, listen closely, then rebuild a way of eating that tastes like something you would choose.
What comes through the door
Digestive complaints that have outlasted the obvious fixes.
Bloating that arrives by afternoon
Flat at breakfast, uncomfortable by three, unbuttoning by dinner. Usually a fermentation and transit-time problem, not a calorie one. We map the pattern before we change a single meal.
IBS that swings both ways
Constipated for four days, then the opposite, with no obvious trigger. We work with fibre type and timing, the nervous system side, and a short structured trial rather than a permanent restriction.
Reflux you have stopped mentioning
Managed with antacids for years and quietly shaping what you order. We look upstream at meal spacing, stomach acid, and the foods doing the actual work before anything gets removed.
A food list that keeps shrinking
Every flare removes another safe food and nothing ever comes back. Reintroduction is a skill, and it is most of what we do together. The goal is a wider plate, not a narrower one.
Energy that dips with every meal
Sleepy at 2pm, wired at 10pm, hungry an hour after eating. Often a blood sugar and protein distribution issue wearing a digestive costume. It responds quickly once we see the day laid out.
Ways to work together
Three ways in, written out like a recipe card.
The Settle
6 weeks · 3 sessions · from $540
The starting point for most people. We find the pattern, calm the loudest symptom, and get you eating a normal range of food again without a long restriction phase.
What is in it. A 75 minute first session with a full history and food-day mapping. A written plan you can cook from, not a PDF of rules. Two follow-ups at weeks two and six. Messaging between sessions for the questions that come up mid-recipe.
Best if. Your symptoms are uncomfortable but predictable, and you want to stop guessing.
The Full Table
4 months · 7 sessions · from $1,480
For a gut that has been difficult for years. Longer runway, room for testing, and a proper reintroduction phase so the food list grows back instead of holding steady.
What is in it. Everything in The Settle, plus functional stool and breath testing where it will change the plan. A structured reintroduction ladder. Seasonal cooking sessions so the plan survives autumn. Coordination letters to your GP or gastroenterologist on request.
Best if. You have a diagnosis, a long history, or a food list down to a dozen items.
The Kitchen Session
Single 90 minute visit · $220
One session, in your kitchen or on video, spent on the practical end. Batch shapes, pantry edits, three meals you will actually repeat, and a shopping list that fits your week.
What is in it. A pantry and fridge walkthrough. Three core meals built around what you already like. A written batch rhythm for the week. Notes emailed the same evening.
Best if. You know roughly what to eat and cannot make it happen on a weeknight.
Who you will be sitting with
Tessa Okonkwo, MS, RDN, CNS
I trained in clinical nutrition at Tufts and spent six years in hospital gastroenterology before opening Nourish in 2019. In that time I watched a lot of people leave appointments with a printed handout and no idea what to make for dinner.
So this practice runs the other way around. We start with the food you already buy, the time you actually have, and the meals your household will tolerate. Testing gets used when it will change something. Restriction is a short tool, never the destination.
I see about thirty clients at a time, which is deliberate. It means I remember your sister's wedding is in March and that you cannot stand the smell of fennel.

Food first, tests second, supplements last.
That order is the whole method. It is cheaper, it is faster to feel, and it leaves you with a skill instead of a subscription.
How a season with Nourish runs
Six weeks, laid out plainly.
Before we meet
You log three ordinary days of food. Not perfect days. Ordinary ones, including the crackers standing up at the counter, because that is the data I need.
Week one
Seventy five minutes together going through history, symptoms and that food log. You leave with two or three changes, written as meals rather than rules, and nothing removed yet.
Week two
We check what moved. This is usually where the first real relief shows up, and where we decide whether any testing is worth your money.
Weeks three to five
The cooking phase. Batch shapes, a handful of repeatable meals, and the reintroductions that widen your list back out. Message me mid-recipe if something is not working.
Week six onward
We write down what your version of eating well looks like now, including what to do when it slips, and you go and live with it. Most people do not need me after this.
I came in with a list of eleven foods I could eat and left with most of my kitchen back. Tessa never once handed me a protocol. She asked what I liked to cook and built from there.

The Seven Day Settle
A one week reset for a loud gut, built around seven dinners you can actually cook on a weeknight. No elimination, no supplements to buy, no calorie counting. Just the order and spacing of meals that settles most people down enough to think clearly again.
Comes as a printable recipe card set plus a short shopping list.
Come and sit down for twenty minutes.
The Kitchen Table Call is free and genuinely a conversation. Tell me what has been going on, hear how I would approach it, and decide nothing on the spot. If Nourish is not the right fit I will say so and point you somewhere better.
